Counseling with Care

Mental health therapy is a unique experience, and no two sessions are exactly the same. The relationship between the counselor and the client is a major part of the experience. It’s important that you feel comfortable enough to trust your counselor and speak openly about your life. And, it helps to have a counselor who is trained, licensed, and has experience counseling within your area of concern. At Mental Wellness Center, we specialize in anxiety counseling, depression counseling, and couples counseling.

Senior Counselor

Life is certainly difficult at times and therapy may be intimidating. However, whether you are just starting or continuing your therapeutic journey, I’m glad you are here, taking the next step.

Counseling is a collaborative process, and the client/therapist relationship is the most important element. My hope is that clients find me to be compassionate, validating, knowledgeable, and genuine. I tend to use a trauma-focused, integrative approach, which allows me to tailor therapy to my clients’ unique journeys and needs. Approaches may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), Gottman Method, narrative therapy, and/or mindfulness. My goal is to meet you where you are, listen to your story, and support your growth in a safe and supportive space.

I received a bachelor’s degree in communications from UW-Milwaukee and a master’s degree in community counseling from Lakeland University. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin and have been since 2015. Prior to the Mental Wellness Center, I was a Senior Clinician and Director of Customer Services for ERC: Counselors & Consultants (aka Employee Resource Center, INC.). I have also worked as a program manager for a local shelter that served children and families experiencing homelessness.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, working out, and crocheting. You will also frequently find me spending time with my family and friends, hiking, vacationing, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Specialties: couples and relationship, gender and identity, anxiety, depression (including postpartum), trauma, self-esteem, grief and loss, life adjustment, stress management

Private-pay Counseling Rates

Intake Appointment: $300/initial session
Individual Counseling: $195/session
Couples / Family Counseling: $250/session

We accept insurance and are in-network for some insurance panels. Please call us to find out if your insurance is eligible. We can also put together a superbill for counseling services that you may take directly to your insurance company for any applicable reimbursement.

We understand that the cost of counseling can be a barrier. It’s important to us that counseling is accessible, so we offer a sliding fee scale based on income level. Please contact us for more information on our fees and payment options.

Benefits of Private-pay Counseling

Greater Confidentiality

By paying privately, your counseling experience is completely confidential, as your third-party insurance company does not receive any information from the provider.

Couples Counseling

Couples and marriage counseling is not typically covered by health insurance because it’s not a diagnosable mental health issue, meaning you would pay for services on your own. Relationship counseling, family distress, grief, and work stress are other common concerns that are often not covered by insurance.

No formal diagnosis needed

Health insurance companies require a formal diagnosis to cover mental health care. However, a formal diagnosis is not always applicable or warranted, and it may complicate your medical history.
